The Springboks winger and all-round speed merchant, Bryan Habana, has become South Africa’s all time leading try scorer, notching up his 39th against Namibia.
Habana became South Africa’s try scoring record holder in the 23rd minute of a rather one-sided [but still error-strewn] group stage match-up against Namibia. He takes the title from previous record holder, Joost van der Westhuizen.
SA tidied up their game in the second half putting another 8 tries past Namibia and looking more like the defending champs they are.
What do you think? Have they got the skills to go all the way or is the close contest with Wales last week a sign that they’re not on top form this time out?
You’ve got to love the effort put in by these guys – brilliantly done and very funny! You’ll need sound for this one.
This made us laugh out loud!!!

Following hot on the heals of the Scotland squad announcement yesterday, Martin Johnson named his final 30 men to take on the worlds best at the Rugby World Cup later this month.
In a press conference yesterday, Tuesday 22nd August, Johnson gave a few surprises in his line-up; none more so than the omission of centre Riki Flutey. He has been relegated to the ‘on call’ list should any of the 30 sustain injury; his place at centre being filled from the short list of, amongst others, Matt Banahan, Shontayne Hape and Manu Tuilagi.
Lewis Moody will take the Captains spot in a team sporting considerable RWC heritage; eleven players have featured in previous World Cup tournaments – five winners from 2003 and eight from 2007′s final defeat to South Africa.
The only uncapped player in the squad is London Wasps Joe Simpson. The scrum half is “ecstatic” about his selection and says he is relishing the prospect of the World Cup despite his lack of Test experience.
At the other end of the spectrum is Jonny Wilkinson; taking part in his fourth Rugby World Cup, the 32 year old equals the English record of Jason Leonard and Mike Catt.
Martin Johnson faced some tough decisions when naming his final 30; he feels he’s got the composition right and says,
“there is great sense of unity in this group and we are pleased with the depth across the squad”
Time will tell if he’s got it right!

It’s getting close now! Scotland have announced their final 30 man squad for the Rugby World Cup and with the tournament kicking off in only 17 days, England are set to follow with an announcement later today.

Discussion has been slowly building recently over the news that the England Away shirt for this season is going to be black. Anyone with a passing interest in rugby and the Rugby World Cup can’t have escaped it… and that’s before the shirt is even launched!
With the launch date only a few days away, 13:00hrs on Monday 1st August, some rugby heavyweights aren’t holding back their feelings.

It’s a big day today for Wales and Under Armour!
Friday 1st July sees the launch of both the Wales Rugby World Cup shirts and the 2011-12 season shirts sponsored by Admiral. We’re always impressed with Under Armour’s technical kit and these new shirts combine some great technical features with a modern design.
The Authentic Home and Away shirts are the tight fitting option designed to be as close as you can get to what the players wear. They’re made from UA’s HeatGear® fabric which is moisture wicking and keeps you cool.
With the Rugby World Cup only a few weeks away (match one is Friday 9th September, New Zealand All Blacks vs Tonga) and the domestic seasons kicking off shortly after, there’s a load of new rugby shirts, jerseys & kit hitting the shelves over the next 4 or 5 weeks. I thought it would make sense to stick all the info into a blog post so you know exactly what’s happening and when.
I’ve broken it down into teams to make it easier for you to find your favourites quickly!
The Scotland Rugby World Cup shirts for 2011 are unveiled today, Tuesday 28 June 2011.
There are a number of new technologies and features tied up in the new Canterbury of New Zealand shirts this year. One of the main technical differences has to be the new loop neck design.
Canterbury have a great tradition of the loop neck which is constructed of a single ‘loop’ of material; no placket, no joins, no weak spots. This new design for 2011 [dubbed 'Loop 21' by CCC] takes the idea to the next level and further improves the strength of this potential weak spot. Here’s what Canterbury have to say about it:
